WELCOME TO THE NEW HARLOW u3a WEBSITE
We are pleased to share information about Harlow u3a with you.
Our Next General Meeting is on
Monday 18 May 2026
We look forward to welcoming you to the General Meeting on Monday 18 May at The Link Social Club, Harlow. ( A week earlier than usual because of the Bank Holiday) Our guest speaker is Anne Small. Last year, Anne talked to us about her life as an ex-pat wife in Kenya and Papua New-Guinea and, due to popular request, she returns this year with her follow-up talk on adjusting to life back in the UK. If you didn't attend last year it doesn't matter, this talk is not dependent on having heard her previous talk.
The meeting starts at 10:00 with check-in from 09:30. Please do not arrive before this time and make sure you check in, even if you are there only for the trip sales. The Trips desk will be in the Bar area, as will complimentary tea and coffee. If you leave before the end of the meeting, please sign out on the sheet positioned near the exit.
Tea/coffee is provided free of charge: if you can, please bring your own re-usable cup to save on waste!
If this will be your first time attending a General Meeting, please look for a member of our Meet and Greet Team who will help you sign in, introduce you to facilitators and other members, generally show you the ropes and help you settle in.
Venue: The Link Parsloe Rd. CM19 4RT The venue is served by the No. 5 bus service (Bus Station to Sumners Farm).
Look out for the email from our Visits and Outings team, which is usually sent out in the week before our General Meeting, to find out what trips will be on sale at the next meeting.

Groups
Currently there are 52 interest groups. Our wide variety of volunteer-led groups range from fitness, crafting, discussion, singing, art, and bridge – to name a few – and offer companionship and stimulation to their participants. There is so much to be gained from joining in: various walking groups, Pilates, pickleball and badminton help keep members fit; a range of discussion groups such as Philosophy, Art/Music Appreciation keep minds agile and informed; the World Faiths group provides an insight into the diverse society in which we live. If there isn't an existing group which meets your interest, you are encouraged and supported to start your own. Just speak to one of our Group Co-ordinators, Vipin Patel or Joan Jones.
For more information about the various groups and their meeting arrangements, go to the Groups page and/ or view the Calendar here: Events and Calendar . Group facilitators can be contacted via the appropriate link on the Groups page.
Visits and Outings
Our Visits and Outings Team work very hard, and do a splendid job, to organise regular trips for Harlow u3a members. One or two trips take place every month; in recent months these have included coach trips to London, (shopping and theatre trips) Cambridge, Brick Lane Theatre (performance and afternoon tea), Thriplow Daffodil Weekend, the seaside, vineyard and the gardens at Canary Wharf. There is also an annual Spring Break- usually a four day stay at a Warners Resort. In 2025 the venue will be Warners Bembridge, on the Isle of Wight, from 16 June until 20 June.
The Team send out a monthly email listing the trips on offer; members can book places, and pay, at the monthly General Meeting or by contacting the Trips' Team. To find out what trips are organised in the coming months go to the Events page and scroll down for the upcoming events. Events
